Composition : Tacrolimus

Indication: Prevention of graft rejection following transplantation of liver or kidney. Treatment of liver or kidney allograft rejection in patients previously having received other immunosuppressive agents.

Dosage :

Adult Liver transplantation: Initially 0.1-0.2 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses.

Adult Kidney transplantation: Initially 0.15-0.3 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses.

Pediatric Liver & Kidney transplantation: Initially 0.3 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses.

Take on an empty stomach at least 1 hr before or 2-3 hr after meals.

Contraindication: Pregnancy. Hypersensitivity to tacrolimus or other macrolides.

Adverse Reactions: Infections, abnormal kidney function,hyperglycemia, DM, tremor, headache, paresthesia,HTN, ECG changes, tachycardia, peripheral edema, vasodilatation, anemia,coagulation disorders, thrombocytopenia,leucocytosis, leucopenia, pancytopenia,nausea, diarrhea, asthma.

Drug Interaction: Cyclosporine A.

Preparations: Cap 0.5mg x 5x 10's . 1 mg  x 5  x 10's .
